We also like visiting haunted places and are currently on a quest to visit every mission in California. I grew up riding horses and enjoy any chance I get to be around them. Do some research to help set you up for success with your animal.
Some of the animals I took care of included: macaques, squirrel monkeys, zebus, deer, bobcats, wolves, and a hybrid and some farm animals. I have always loved dogs and from a young age had a knack for training them. Growing up we had dogs, cats, rabbits, fish and even chipmunks. Here, I am looking to continue developing my skill set with the ultimate goal of someday being on the Executive team of HSUS.

I call him my parrot because he likes to jump to my shoulders and hang out up there as I do chores around the house. I love seeing the animals our Animal Control Officers occasionally pick up and bring into the office for a visit. I feel I can relate to dogs because of their characteristics such as being loyal and loveable. I started a low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Pensacola, FL to help reduce the of unwanted litters in the community, and to make a Community Cat program possible.
After working as a Police Dispatcher for the last 24 years I find working for and with the animals refreshing. It literally is like having. Ozzy, our Pomeranian, is 5 years old. Some of my best memories were playing on the farm. I enjoy getting out and meeting members of the community. I worked at AHS for about four years, during my time there I cleaned kennels, managed volunteers, administered vaccines, and my favorite asment of event planning. I help educate them on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. If everyone had the ability to love unconditionally as a dog, the world would be a better place.
My oldest dog is a years old Beagle named Lucy. I began in the ticket booth and eventually got into the zoo keeping on some days. My favorite part of my job is getting to help and be a part of something bigger than myself. He just loves to ham it up. I don't think there was ever a time we were without a pet. He is full of zest and loves to cuddle. He is the best cat I have ever owned. One thing about Parker is that he thinks he is a Chihuahua since being raised with Buster and Chloe.
I am a very out-going person, so this job truly suits me.
And most of all, It is always a wonderful feeling when you can help an animal find its forever home. My cat Jack, is a Maine Coon mix, and is almost 9 years old. I enjoy spending time with my family, my husband Bruce, my daughter Chaela and my new addition to my household, my year-old grandson James.
Seeing them be adopted to new homes or reunited with their family is my favorite part. There, I received a ton of hands-on training which helped my transition to Animal Control. I have attended numerous trainings and academies related to Animal Control which have helped my progression in this field. Seems simple enough but it takes a great time and effort on the owners part to end up with a well-mannered, obedient animal.
I also would add that she is the first dog I fully trust in any situation kids, other dogs, etc she is a great K9 ambassador. The shelter would see about 50, animals a year, most of which would come through my department. I started working in Animal Services in April I have been around cats, dogs, and horses my entire life.
I started out at the county shelter, then I moved to a dog groomer.
I have always had a soft spot for dogs. We enjoy traveling, trips to Disneyland, Giants baseball and Charger football games. Both animals are majestic and peaceful even though they can do damage if they pleased.
There, I was a supervisor in the kennel department responsible for employees, It was quite a journey at TAF during my time there. My journey started as a volunteer at the Atchison Humane Society AHS completing community service hours for high school and from there it took off! Walter, our Shih Tzu, is a little over 1 year old.
I go on bike rides with my kids and in general love being active. I have grown up having pets, and I knew one day I wanted animals to be part of my career. In my free time I enjoy spending it with the program and my family. After completing my initial training, I was back. I enjoy interaction with the animal owners in Elk Grove. And last but not least — know the breed you are adopting.
Currently, I own 2 dogs and 1 cat. Then the other 2 dogs technically are my grand fur-babies; however, I am the one who feeds and plays with them.
I also have a horse that I rescued, she is 8 years old and full of sass. Being outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping and exploring historical or haunted places. In my current household, I have 3 dogs in which all are rescues. I have to say elephants and horses are on equal playing ground in my heart.
My favorite animal would have to be a dog, however, the right cat can be amazing as well. Dogs can tell you so much if you just pay attention to them. Over the years the biggest issue I come across is people are not aware of the resources available to them.
Once the shelter opens, I believe my favorite part of the job will be seeing our shelter animals going to a loving home. I have 3 dogs. She is full of energy and gives Buster a run for his money. Also on licensing and microchipping their pets for quick return. He lets you do all the things most cats will not tolerate like rubbing his belly — he loves it. I love being outdoors.
I enjoy fishing, camping, and hunting. I also like sports and am on a co-ed softball team here in Elk Grove. Additionally, there are low-cost animal trainers who can help you understand your pet and find a way to communicate with them so all involved are happy.
I always look forward to my work day when animals are involved. I also had a Black Angus and two Ponies growing up. In high school, I did an occupational program for veterinary careers. I always enjoyed watching Charlie Brown with his loyal companion Snoopy. They need guidance, structure, and discipline.
Animals have always been a part of my family. I get to help and meet so many two-legged friends as well as four-legged friends whether evacuating animals from a fire area or helping someone who has fallen on tough times and get resources for themselves or their animals. My daughter is training him in German and he seems to follow my husband everywhere he goes and loves to get in his way. Chloe has a heart shaped marking on her chest which makes her special in our eyes. There I would deal with a lot of livestock, fire evacuations, and wildlife.
Report An Issue. I love providing kindness and care to animals in need, when they are hurt, lost or homeless. I have been working with animals professionally since I have been in charge of a horse herd for summer camps and directed animal shelters. He changed my view on small dogs as I have always been a big dog kind of guy.
Throughout high school, and after I graduated, I worked for a few veterinary hospitals. Camping, fishing, riding horses, traveling, especially to the beach, or Disneyland, hiking, and 4-wheeling. Spending time with my family. This is a tough question for me to answer. My father worked on a dairy so I was around cows, horses, goats and chickens.
